Sand Rock Town Council

The Town of Sand Rock operates under a Mayor-Council form of government.  This form of government most closely resembles the private sector with the Mayor serving as the Chief Executive Officer and the Council as the Board of Directors.

The Mayor and Town Council Members are elected at large for four-year terms.  The next municipal election will be held in August, 2024.

The City Council works as the ‘legislative arm’ of the city government.  The Council works with the Mayor to provide governmental oversight of the city.

In addition to managing the town’s government and financial affairs, the mayor and council are also responsible for oversight of the park and recreation activities, volunteer fire department, and the town’s streets and roads. The town also maintains the Town Hall facility, park pavilion, and livestock arena, making them available to town residents via rental agreement.  The Town Hall facilities are located in the heart of town, adjacent to Sand Rock High School.

The town manages youth ball fields, which are home to boys baseball, the girls youth softball teams, t-ball, and youth soccer leagues.
